I read a book in a similar genre, journal, take a walk. Being out and moving in nature can really get the my thoughts unstuck. Sometimes I'll listen to music and clean, letting my story ruminate in the back of my mind. I think it's important to keep my attitude positive about it too--if I tell myself, "I'll move through this," it always happens much more quickly than when I fret and worry over it.
