Marie Weiler There's a couple of things. For one, and probably the most important, it satiates the restlessness I feel when I don't write. I feel called by God to write the ideas He has given me, and when I don't, I am miserable. So writing gives me an inner sense of happiness, peace, and purpose.

Secondly, any career where you get to spend countless hours creating new worlds, characters, and plots is super cool. I can't imagine NOT doing this for a living; that sounds like purgatory.
Marie Weiler Narnia. I would go swimming by the pristine shores, enjoy a banquet and dance with other mythical creatures, and explore the world by land and by sea for hours on end. Also, stargazing would be a must on my Narnian bucket list.
Marie Weiler Basically, from anything and everything. I could be out at a little league baseball game and get an idea from just listening to the conversations of the people around me (this actually happened for a novella). Or I could be listening to Mozart whilst watching the clouds pass by overhead. It really helps if a person is just open to the extra within the ordinary things of life. It's in those moments that God's blessings are greatest.
Marie Weiler Learn to write poetry. I know that may not seem like a very story-oriented approach to writing fiction, but there is no better [nor harder, for that matter,] way to quickly develop the ability of condensing your ideas into as few words as possible. By learning to choose words which will evoke an emotional response in the reader, as well as be concise in getting across the poem's meaning, you become a master wordsmith. Not to mention, your vocabulary becomes quite extensive.
