Ashton Abbott I'm so sorry for answering so late! I just found out about these.

My most recent release is Bound by Death's Curse and follows Torstan and Rhiannon that were first introduced in By The Moon We Fall. When I first started their debut, I felt their heartache and pain to my marrow. I couldn't just leave their story like that. I needed them to have their journey and find their way back to one another.

I get inspired to write in order to give my ideas life. I start randomly thinking about an alternate world or character I'd like to breathe life into, then I make them come to life! There have also been certain emotions/traumas I feel to my bones and I want to express them and see characters overcome them.

I am currently working on the last book in the Goddesses of the Morrigan trilogy! It follows Anu, and has a few Raedan Warrior Easter eggs sprinkled throughout!

My advice is to just go for it! As a first time author it can be so intimidating and self doubt creeps in and makes you question everything and drag your feet. Don't let it! Get your ass in the chair and your fingers on the keyboard. You have a story to tell and the world is waiting with bated breath to hear it! Do it! You've got this!

The best thing about being a writer is having the excuse of "I'm a writer" when my weirdness is on full display. We're talking mismatched tall wool socks over leggings and a bag for a dress.

Just kidding. About that being the best thing, anyway.

The best thing is I get to create worlds and characters, breathe life into them, and share them with my readers!

Writer's block used to be such a thorn in my side. What I do to smash it into teeny tiny pieces is to put my ass in a chair and my fingers on the keyboard. Creativity flows freely.
If you're blocked and having stressed about what you're currently working on, open a new page and write about the first thing that comes to your mind. Once you flow there, it will be so much easier to flow on your original project.

Horror story in two sentences:

I stand in a darkened tunnel, cursed to continue moving either forward or backward. In front of me lies death; behind me reveals my darkest torment.

That's right.
I'm going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
I would set up a creepy-yet-serene cottage in the middle of the Forbidden Forest and spend my time taking on quests for the ultra-rare and saving baby centaurs.

It's tough because when I am in the middle of writing a book I don't read and I have a pretty full lineup this summer. But, I am going to 100% read From the Grave by Kresley Cole, His Curvy Rejected Mate by Cate C. Wells, Bone Island by Nicole Fiorini, and Bewitched by Laura Thalassa.

Hmmm... well I have a sensitivity to energies around me and think that discovering the depth of this added sense could make for a great book. For example, whenever I go into estate sales of someone recently departed, I can feel their presence a majority of the time.
