The idea for my recent book? I had religious experiences 40 years ago that changed my life. I kept quiet about those encounters, but applied what I learned from them to my daily life. The results: an amazing story. The only thing I needed was the time to focus on writing it all down. Life had been so busy, but I found myself with enough time. So, I bought a used laptop in January 2020 and began writing. I would go to bed with the subject matter on my mind and awaken ready to write. Within a week, I had most of it written.

The best thing about being a writer is to see other's enjoying and interacting with your work. I used to love riding the NYC subways and seeing people reading my stories in the newspaper - and they never knew I was standing right next to them. I always write for my audience.

After about 15 years writing in the high pressure newsrooms of New York City, I don't ever have writer's block. Perhaps those who suffer from it just need a firm deadline, even if they have to set it themselves.
