Having read a lot of science fiction and fantasy novels, enjoyed keeping up to date with the latest scientific understanding of our universe, as well as watching a lot of related TV shows and movies. I always found myself wanting more, to explore the ideas and stories in a different way, and to combine all the things I loved about each with my own imagination and ideas. So I essentially took all those aspects that interested me and started joining the dots. Weaving and integrating each concept to create a story that felt natural and contained everything I ever wanted to read in a single science fiction novel or series.

Simply, write as much as you can, when you can. Write about what you enjoy, and set yourself regular small writing targets so that you always have something to aspire to and achieve.

For me there are two special things about being a writer. One is a forum to escape and take a break from the real world, the opportunity to embrace your imagination beyond the realms of reality or physical laws. The second is the excitement that others can share that journey through reading your work. I think ultimately the goal of most writers is to share their creations with a wider audience.

I am currently working on the three follow up novels to Dawn of the Raziel. At this moment I am very much focused on its sequel, Ascendancy of the Sin.

When I have writers block, I read the news and other fiction, watch science documentaries and read science magazines. I find real life can be more wondrous and surprising than your own imagination at times and is an unlimited source of inspiration.
