A friend inspired me when I texted her back in 2015 about what I was a white male, as well as white people overall, could do to truly help fix the racial injustice and unrest that we were experiencing then. She texted back that I should take a much deeper look at whiteness, so that's what I did. The book (Giving Up Whiteness) is a combination of what I learned about the history and impact of race with how whiteness has impacted my own life. It ends with my attempts to shed whiteness as a primary identity marker and way of seeing the world.

Mostly launching my first book, Giving Up Whiteness! A book lifecycle is so strange. It's months and months of tweaking and editing, then a long quiet period, and then promotion craziness for several months. All of a sudden...it's on sale! I'm creating some discussion questions for book clubs and some responses to media questions, so that keeps me busy as the 10.6.20 on sale date arrives.
