John Haas Re-reading Stephen King's The Stand right now. With all the pandemic stuff going on it sort of demanded to be read. After that I have Larry Niven's DreamPark novels and Kim Newman's Diogenes Club books.
John Haas My most recent book (The Unavoidable Quests which will be released May 2020) is the third in a trilogy which brought all the characters together. It was sitting in the back of my mind while writing the other two and just came out pretty easily.
John Haas My kids inspire me to write in general. On a day to day basis I just look at the page, think about what comes next and then I find I am motivated. I love writing so inspiration is usually pretty easy.
John Haas A prequel to my story which appeared in Writers of the Future 35.
John Haas Get started and don't stop. Nothing takes the place of doing teh actual work of writing. Get those words down and worry later if they're good enough for someone else to read (that's a problem for future you who does the editing).
John Haas Being in complete control of an entire world... at least until the characters decide they want things to go a different way.
John Haas If I find myself blocked on something I go for a walk. A change of scenery usually helps and I can think things through while walking. It works for me at least.
