Melody Kepler This year my summer reading list consists of non-published books.
Melody Kepler I try to switch up my music. Find a new place to sit. Close my eyes and breathe for a few minutes and think of something, anything, that can make me feel.
Melody Kepler Honestly, the best thing about being a writer is getting to experience what my characters experience. I've lived a pretty safe life. In that, I mean I haven't done a lot of things that I want to do. No skydiving yet, or scuba diving. I struggle to even argue with people. But when I write, I get to experience all the emotions that my characters do when they're experiencing something. And the most interesting thing is that the feeling changes from person to person!
Melody Kepler If you want to write, do whatever you need to sit down and do it. Sometimes I stare at the page and only get three words in. But that's still three words more than I had before. Don't stress about your skill level or if your story is good enough. Write what you're passionate about. Write the story you'd want to read.
Melody Kepler Book two of the Extension series. Working title is undecided between Perfidy, Fracture, and Antipathy.
Melody Kepler Music is a big motivator. It's hard for me to write without it.
