Two things. Write! Everyday. I don't care if it's for an hour or half your day. The only way you'll get better is by doing it. Also, research your genre and read! I find things in my writing that I have learned from other writers just by reading their work and it makes me better. Also, even if you're an indie writer, invest in a good editor. It's can be expensive but it's completely and totally worth it. Find someone that matches your style and personality. It can literally save your story...

After I finished Before We Get Carried Away, I immediately started writing another novel and it didn't go where I wanted it to so I stopped. But then I was hit with another idea that I was able to finish and will be out in June. I have so many ideas for books that sometimes I have to slow my head down to think if it's actually a good idea or just something to play around with. I'm still trying to perfect my process and I know it'll take time. I'm excited about the future.

I've loved reading for a long time and have always written. Whether it be for blogs or my own creativity, putting words to paper is my outlet to de-stress and flesh out ideas. I'm old so I love pen to paper, physically writing in notebooks and journals. Since writing novels, I've fallen love with the process and the ability to create a world where anything is possible. It really is freeing.

I've been thinking about this book for years. There's one scene in particular that I constantly thought about but had no idea how to put it from my brain to paper. Then the opening scene to the book hit me, and I literally ran to my room and started writing it.
