I was a super poor planner when it came to the size of Hiccups... Again. I didn't take the bleed and the margins into consideration when I was having the book illustrated and getting all the pages resized delayed my book launch.

Get away from the writing. Meditate, go for a walk and find beauty in nature, or work out. You have to do what works best for you, but these are my three favorite things. If you can get your brain to stop stressing about what you need to write, the words will flow naturally.

For me, it's two fold.
#1 - I hope that my books will spark creativity in children.
#2 - I hope that my books will inspire others to write.

Just write and don't worry about the words being perfect. Getting something down on paper can act as a starting point to spark your creativity!

My two children are my inspiration.

I wrote my first book "Hiccups" when my first son was born. It started out as a rap song about him getting the hiccups all the time. Then I decided to make it a book because I thought it would be a cool thing to do. I actually had no intention of marketing this book or trying to sell it really. I just wanted to do it for my son.
After my daughter was born, I knew I needed to write another book because I couldn't just have one book dedicated to one kid. So... "Hiccups... Again?" was born. This book took me two years and my goal is to sell 1 million copies of it.
