Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Allison Church "The Keeper of the Gates" came from a simple, and possibly, misunderstood observance. I am a Catholic, and while at Mass one Wednesday, I noticed a priest give a member of his congregation a longing and what I thought to be a "hungry" stare. The writer within took over and both condemned and sympathized with his spectrum of human emotions. The role of being a "Servant of God" has to be a burden I will never comprehend. Still, I personally see no reason, or dogma, which states that a "Man of God" within the Catholic Faith, CANNOT have a wife. That was the seed that started the writing of the novella.

How do you get inspired to write?

Allison Church I was never that popular when I was a child, and...being Transgender... made it even MORE difficult. I started reading to escape. Then I read to inquire about the "Who" of what I was within this world. Lastly, I discovered that I write because I HAVE TO DO IT. It defines who I am.

Allison Church A classic "haunted house" story...and a fascinating idea for a murder mystery series.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Allison Church Accept the humble fact that you do not know everything, that your first million words will be CRAP, and that you will ALWAYS need to rewrite your first draft. Most importantly...NEVER...NEVER...GIVE UP!!!

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Allison Church I absolutely LOVE the setting for my "Nown" World Chronicles" series, created under my "origin" name. The love between Ka-Ron and Jatel is EPIC and one I have always wanted in my personal life. I would go there, starting my adventure out as Jatel - "The Faithful Squire."
