The idea for Anji & Me came after reading The Bear and the Piano, by David Litchfield. An abandoned piano in the woods left me with questions as to how it got there, and I decided that writing a story from the point of view of the piano in the corner was an interesting idea.

Write every day. It's hard, and I often don't manage it, but writing regularly helps the flow to remain constant. I find that writing regularly, particularly if I'm in the middle of a project, means that I don't end up either getting writer's block, or being concerned about continuing writing. The longer the break, the more my anxiety about continuing a project.

Sharing a world you have created with someone else. I often feel a great attachment to my characters. Being a writer is a way of giving life to these ideas in you mind, and allow them to flourish and grow in the minds of others. Many people have ideas, but so many of them stay hidden. Writing allows us to take those ideas and bring others into those worlds.
