The idea for my recent book came to me after playing the what-if game. I asked myself what if an ex-assassin/murderer became a cop and solved cases for a living? What if she was type of race that specialized in death and protected/collected souls? What if she was going to college while working as a consultant/unofficial cop? Thus, Luce Lycaon and A Stream of Darkness were born.

I listen to music, I play MMORPG games, I read books/manga, or I watch TV shows. And, of course, I play the what-if game.

Right now, I'm currently working on the second book in the Crymsen Crescent series and promoting my poetry collection, Hurricane Vignette.

Don't give up. That's probably said a lot, but it's true. I wrote my first novel when I was thirteen and, though, now I look back at it and cringe it was still a stepping stone of achieving my dream. I may be twenty-four and publishing for the first time when I thought I could publish a lot younger. I've learned a lot over the years and I kept writing and improving my craft.
Think of writing as a muscle that needs to be used daily otherwise it becomes weak or rusty from lack of use. Write everyday, even if it's only a 100 words. Look at writing prompts and get the creative juices flowing.
And dream. Always dream and never give in to doubt.

I can escape the real world for a while by creating a new one with interesting characters and fantastical lands where magic exists.
That sounded a little to romantic and flowery, didn't it?

Well, I stare at the wall or at my computer screen waiting for the words to come for a long time. When that doesn't work, I simply get up and head to the white board in my writing room and start brainstorming chapter ideas. I try not to get too overly stressed about it because that will make the writer's block worse and then I really can't get anything done. For me, I'll listen to music while I work and just let the beats and lyrics guide my thoughts.

Oh, that's a hard one.
I'd have to say to Prythian from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas or P.C. Cast's House of Night series.
As to what I would do there? Meet all the characters and integrate myself into their friendship circle because they're awesome! Hopefully, they won't think I'm too awkward or fangirly.

Currently, I plan to catch up on my reading with Crescent City and Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas. I plan to re-read the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.
