I never experienced it personally but I could imagine it being frustrating. I would think spending more time away from writing would help instead of fighting through it. Maybe give your mind a little time to rebuild the creative juices.

I will think about something in the book/manuscript for several days. Maybe a part in the story that I am excited to finally write. Sometimes I will skip ahead just to get to that part and try line the rest up behind it.

Well, I feel its such a satisfying journey regardless of the time, energy, and finances involved. Even if you don't sell a single book, that's OK! Its not about the money its about the story and I try to be very humble and realistic about it.
Write what you love and love what you write. Do some research so you are not caught off guard about the financial side of writing your novel and find a great editor! that's my advise.

Absolutely the story. I personally feel that story has a life of its own and although I am writing it, I feel it steers me and surprises me quite often.
