My best advice for aspiring writers is to just write! Don't worry about if it's perfect, don't worry about grammatical errors, don't even worry about whether or not it makes sense yet. The way I see it, your first draft is a fun exploration of your own story! Once you get through that tough first draft, it becomes much easier to look at things from a larger perspective and figure out how to put the smaller piece of the story puzzle together. So don't worry, don't stress, just write!

Whenever I get writer's block, it's usually because I'm trying to force myself to write or I'm stressed about a self-imposed deadline (fellow perfectionists, raise your hands!). If this happens, I've found that watching movies and reading books in genres other than those I write tends to spark my imagination pretty quickly, and quite reliably. I always have my trusty notes app open on my phone so when inspiration strikes, I can capture it!
