The best thing about being a writer is being able to share my stories and interact with readers. It's amazing to see how my work impacts other's lives and how they interpret it. I love hearing that my book got them out of a reading rut or allowed them to escape for a few hours or just wildly entertained them.

She believed she could. But she gave up because so many people told her she couldn't.

I also write under the pen name J.R. Adler and the first book in the Detective Kimberley King series, DEAD WOMAN CROSSING, releases 9/23/20. It's available to pre-order now on Amazon. Currently, I'm working on the second in the series, while also shopping around my other suspense novels under my name Jeneva Rose.

Keep going! Keep writing! Read widely! And don't take no for an answer. Over the past four years, I've been rejected well over 300 times. I was told 'The Perfect Marriage' wasn't marketable, and that it wouldn't sell. So, I would say just keep going. It only takes one yes and then it's in the reader's hands to decide what they do and do not like.

I deal with it by working through it, forcing myself to sit in my chair and type whatever comes to mind. Sometimes, what comes out is really good. Other times, it's a total dumpster fire. Word sprints help greatly. I sit down, set a timer for fifteen minutes, and try to write as many words as possible. Then I do it again and try to beat my previous "score" turning it into a little challenging game. But sometimes, I just have to step away, take a walk, talk it out with someone, and that works really well too.
