Gary Hickman I've had times in my life where things have happened and there is no explanation. In combat there were times where I should have went left, but something told me right and saved me from harm. Things like that.
Gary Hickman It actually is based on true events, actual experiences and with real characters. Now, I remove the enemy and insert "the infected", and I change the names and places of the locations. That being said, a lot of the interactions between the characters actually happened and were what was actually said. The fact that I apply those conversations to the infected and not the enemies we were fighting at the time makes it that much funnier.
Gary Hickman It is actually pretty easy. I think my brain has a lot more things to articulate than my mouth can verbalize. Writing allows me to get those ideas, thoughts or ramblings out. Some make sense and can be aggregated into story ideas and some make no sense what so ever.
Gary Hickman The sequel to The Light Reapers, plus I am working on some music I hope to release this fall.
Gary Hickman Think of how you want your story to go, but don't think about writing the whole book. It can be daunting sometimes, trying to think about everything a book needs. That may lead to being overwhelmed and can stifle your creativity. I start with a story outline as a basic roadmap. Then I start with the first chapter and complete it. Then I move to the next and so on. I try to only think about writing the chapter I am writing at that time and focus on that.
Gary Hickman Doing exactly what you want, when you want. Being able to write whatever you want, to control the story, to control the experiences and to determine the future of everyone in your story. It is amazing power to hold in your hands.
Gary Hickman I have to experience chaos to remove the block. A whole lot of stimulus at one time usually will clear out the cobwebs.
Gary Hickman Attended a wedding of one of my wife's best friends. My zipper was down the whole day!
Gary Hickman Galaxy's Edge Series - by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole
