On a photographic holiday to Yosemite NP, I was curious why the Three Brothers was so named. It turned out that it was named after three sons of of a Chief, Tenaya, whose people (Ahwahneechees/Yosemites) lived in the valley. As best I could I followed their history and that of the Mariposa Indian War of 1851. My historical fiction "Great Spirit of Yosemite: The Story of Chief Tenaya" was spawned out of this simple piece of curiosity!
