How often do people go on holiday and find their passport has gone astray?
How many of those discover their wallet/purse/other identification is also nowhere to be found?
How many people become separated from their passport soon after they arrive in the country, before they reach their hotel even?
How many people, when jet-lagged, stop off for a coffee, put their wallet/purse on the table with their passport and walk off, leaving their possessions behind?
Are these airport coffee stops covered by CCTV?
In such cases, which happen frequently, where would said person go to report the loss and if their first port of call is the local police, where would the police direct them?
As the loss of a passport is frequent, does the country which issued the passport have well-rehearsed procedures for such an eventuality?
We are talking of Britain, where ten-year passports are issued.
How many people, when their passport has but six-months validity, still use the passport to go on holiday or on a business trip?
How many people look the same as their passport photo after ten-years?
How easy is it to change the colour of someones's eyes with tinted contact lenses?
How easy is it for someone with the skills to change a face, enough, with a bit of make-up?
