When I write, it has to be in a comfortable environment with a medieval tavern sort of vibe. Coffee is not a must but is highly encouraged. I also put on white noise or background audio to tune out distractions like honking, shouting, doors closing, those sorts of things. It helps me get in the zone. Also, I'll watch shows or movies close to my book to get inspired to write after I finish them.
