Good question. My second book, The Blind Will See, was inspired as I thought about the character of George Wickham in Pride and Prejudice. He is a louse, but a successful louse, mostly because he is charming and VERY handsome. So I thought -- what would happen if he was injured and he lost his good looks? And then it was off to the races. I wrote the book in less than 6 weeks because the story just FLOWED. It was fun.

I now have a deep desire to write. I just do. It is a huge creative outlet.

I just published my 2nd book yesterday and now my brain is working on a plot for a 3rd Pride and Prejudice book. I was sitting by the pool watching my youngest child so she wouldn't drown (she is a competent swimmer, but I'm also a responsible mother) and thinking about the plot line. I have a long way to go but I have some ideas.

Practice writing. If you have a fandom you love, write on the fanfiction sites. People are good about giving good feedback. Also, read a lot. I have been a passionate reader most of my life and I have no doubt that has helped me write.

So much fun creating exciting experiences for the characters! I try to get inside the heads of the characters (obviously my visualization of those characters) and then run with it. Sometimes I find a person doing something bizarre, like -- hmm, I didn't expect that!

I just write. My mantra is "you can't fix nothing". I find I never write anything totally worthless. Even if I have to toss 90% of it, I can do something with the 10%. I just force myself to type something.
