Mackenzie Friel Keep going. As you write and read you'll find your voice. Each story will be written better than the next. You'll find out what works for you and what you're comfortable with writing. Don't always chase what's popular and hip. There is an audience out there for you, you just have to know where to look.
Mackenzie Friel Sounds silly, but walk it out. Sometimes you just need to move and talk about the place you're stuck in a story out loud. The neighborhood might think I'm crazy, but I've wiggled my way out of so many blocks that I don't mind being known as the weird lady who talks to herself while she walks.
Mackenzie Friel All the crazy ideas and voices in my head have a place to go. Ever since I was little I was making and creating stories. Now I have an outlet to share what's been going on in my imagination.
Mackenzie Friel Caldara from my book The Maiden of Caldara. I love how vast I created the world. I would probably travel around and take the route Silas does within the story. Sort of how you can go to New Zealand and take the route Frodo and Sam took to Mordor.
Mackenzie Friel Poison in Their Hearts by Laura Sebastian (I'm currently reading this)
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins (So I can get a refresh and read the prequels)
Something else from my physical TBR, I'll figure it out when I get there.
Mackenzie Friel This mystery has been solved, but years ago thumbtacks kept disappearing from our posters. We couldn't figure out where they were going. Turns out one of our cats was pulling them out of the wall. I guess the real mystery is why he felt the need to take them in the first place.
Mackenzie Friel After we said 'I do', I finally kissed the love of my life. When I opened my eyes death smiled back at me.
Mackenzie Friel Right now I'm working on a few things, but I think the most recent is a novella. I got the idea from a weird dream I had where a princess was running through the streets of her kingdom. Sitting with that vague image for awhile I came up with a story to go along with it. I'm not sure when it'll be out, but I like it because it's different from what I've written before.
Mackenzie Friel The last book in my urban fantasy series Hollowshine. This fourth book is the final installment and I'm excited for readers to see how everything wraps up. Better grab some tissues cause it'll be heartbreaking.
