Toss up between Hogwarts and the setting for Pride and Prejudice. In Harry Potter land, well, the first thing I'd do is go buy a wand, and the second is go meet Severus Snape. In Prideland, I'd be fitted for a spectacular gown and go befriend Elizabeth Bennett.

Late one night, a curious young man walked into an abandoned house to hide and fell into a deep, dark, spiraling tunnel that took him straight to hell. He wasn't seen or heard of again ... until the day the sky rained blood.

Hmmm. Is there such a thing? I alternate between writing and painting and watching my favs on the tube. (There's also that treadmill looming down the hall.) I write when the pull is so strong that the chair begins talking back to me if I don't sit down--or maybe it's just my characters! LOL!
Seriously, the best way to deal with writer's block is to brainstorm by yourself and with others. If you have a writing partner, editor, a trusted beta reader, or someone who'll just listen, share with that person(s). You'll be surprised what comes through. Stress gets nothing for some folks, others thrive on it. That said, sometimes we just get in our own way, so it's good to take a break, make a change, or do something else for a bit.

I've accepted that my computer is my bestfriend! I jest. But there is truth to that. If the house was on fire, and everyone was out safely, I'd run back for the computer!
I love writing because it's truly one of the best way to express myself. I also paint but that's a different type of expression (just as important). The key creativity and happiness is to have a diverse set of interests. I love art museums just as much as bookstores, and both tend to fill the well. Have to see what's out there to stay in touch. Bookstores and art museums do just that.
Travel is lovely. Gives you pictures and ideas to use in your stories. Let's you experience cultures, hear the languages spoken firsthand, and to truly see how rich and diverse the world is. (This is the reason I studied Sociology in undergrad.) The computer lets me travel and I love that. Hello Google earth!
The best thing about being a writer is the true freedom of mind and speech.

I'm currently working on a psychogenic amnesia story. Not far off the pitch, it's also a psychological thriller. It's the story of a woman trying to find herself, while someone else is trying to kill her. Double trouble! Originally, I wrote the story with an international backdrop but decided to shift the story to a domestic thriller. Why? To tighten the suspense. Make the storyline more realistic.
I've also written several novels that are holding in the hopper. They range from literary fiction to espionage. I even have a romantic comedy. While I gravitate toward thriller and suspense, I also believe that an author should follow their heart and write what speaks to them. A lot of authors rarely venture out of their lane. I like to play it a little dangerous.

My head is always swimming with ideas for books. Plots, characters, conversations, action scenes. Very often stories just come to me in a flash. Beginning to end. It's kind of like being struck by lightning. Some books take little time to execute, others take years. But I think that's called the editing process. Presently, I'm sitting on quite a few ideas for new stories. I just have to find the time! Where's the time to write them all!

Like accumulation of snow high in the mountains, the idea for Cover Your Tracks has been building for a few years just waiting to come crashing down. The idea began percolating after being completely drawn in by the movie the Fugitive, which has BTW remained one of my all-time favorites. I knew when I released my first all-out thriller that I wanted the book to start off with a catastrophic event. I bring you Cover Your Tracks!
