(view spoiler)[I'm wondering because I couldn't quite figure it out from the book but does Saalim still have other lovers by the end of Son of the Salt Chaser? Or does taking Emel as his wife mean he won't have ahiran/a harem? Cause I felt that would've been out of character for him once he remembered his past to continue having multiple lovers. I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but no, Saalim does not have other lovers by the end of the duology :)
A.S. Thornton
Correct, it is a duology. DAUGHTER OF THE SALT KING is the first, and SON OF THE SALT CHASER is the second and final book. It concludes Emel and Saalim's story and will be out November 2022!

Getting to create and then live in your favorite story of all time. I love the characters and worlds I write, so I LOVE being immersed in them for hours and hours and hours.
The second best thing? Having a reader tell you they love what you wrote. That is validation like no other.

I am very much a "plotter" so if I'm not sure where I want to go next, I don't simply write (although for some people that is the best way to deal with writer's block!). I really think through the next scenes and figure out what I want to happen and what I'm building towards. If I'm really stuck, I'll try to add in a new subplot, because that will give me fresh material to play with. No matter what you do, you can always go back and edit if you don't like what you did.

Once you have your idea for your story, think about where you want it to go. Then, try to create the biggest emotional swings you can so the reader is taken on the wildest ride possible (make the happy parts REALLY happy and the sad parts REALLY sad). Everything about your protagonists' journey should be hard! They have to earn their ending.

Am I totally unoriginal if I say Hogsmeade during Christmastime? Because that is the fictional world I would love to visit... and live in forever... drinking butterbeer and eating delicious magical treats.
