#2 Join a critique group. Seriously. You can't do this in isolation. If you don't like them (if they're @#$%@'s), quit them and join another. Or create your own. But you need honest, insightful feedback to make your books as clean and crystal and enjoyable to read.
#3 Humility. Listen to feedback with your mouth closed and your mind open. Be ready for bad reviews on your best work. None of that is a reflection on your ability or worth; it's an opportunity to grow as an artist.
