Ina Ferencic Personally, my biggest joy in writing is getting an emotional reaction from people. It can be a simple, short but well-thought-out and on-point Facebook post, blog entry, a book like the one I wrote, or a birthday card.

When people read something I wrote, if they don't keep their straight face while doing so, it's usually a win for me and a great sense of satisfaction.

When I was a freelance journalist, I found joy when I informed people about news from the sport we all enjoyed watching. I loved searching for and finding the perfect title for the article, and I enjoyed, even more, presenting the happenings from this world in a fun and interesting way, because I knew readers benefited from that.

In a book-writing realm, I adore the hypnotic power of well-formed sentences can have, and my goal was - and still is - to change other peoples' lives for the better with the pages I published.
Ina Ferencic Interestingly enough, I don't encounter writer's block as such, much. I'm lucky in that regard.

But that's maybe because I have a tendency to start writing when I feel I have the capacity to write, which is the feeling that rarely plays tricks on me. When I'm not in good form, I don't write that day, and when I feel I have something smart and meaningful to say, words tend to pour out.

However, I do sometimes write things that don't come out as I would like them to, and then I think to myself, "a writer's block would be nicer than whatever this is", but that's a normal reaction from me, as I strive to give my best every time I write something. Even this answer.
Ina Ferencic Practice makes better. There's no other way as effective for pen-sharpening as putting that tip of the pen on paper. The muscle/brain analogy is much more truthful than many people think, and expression via the written word will be a strong bicep only if you keep practicing.

Also, don't be afraid to scrap and rewrite paragraphs. While writing my book, I wrote almost every page at least twice. Don't be discouraged by it, as this is a normal occurrence in the writing process.

One of the most important pieces of advice I can give is to never stop learning - and never give up easily on the idea you see potential in.
Ina Ferencic I have a perfect answer to that question, and it's already been used. My published book, Pussified: A sex change story I didn't have the balls to tell, unveils the mystery that is my life, to be perfectly honest.

Even the people who know I was born a boy with intersex/chromosomal complications and that I had to go through sex reassignment surgery, didn't know even the 5% information that was presented in this 165-page work.

This truly is an open diary, and I even encountered some mini, underlying mysteries myself that I was not aware of. I realized, most of all, that even though I had specific issues - my life adversities are not specific at all. Many people encountered the same problems and we all pose more or less the same questions to ourselves. Therefore I believe my book can help many, many people.
