I’m addition to the sequel to Jubilee, I am working on a book about the Revolutionary War. The story follows the captain of a privateer ship employed by the Continental Navy as they struggle to hold their own against the British Royal Navy!

For me, writing any story begins with a specific scene. A confrontation, a defining moment, these things are what inspire me to write a story. These settings often become a climatic moment in the heart of the book, and from there I must figure out how the protagonist gets to that point as I develop my outlines.

I started writing Jubilee while I was on deployment with the U.S. Marine Corps. What originally started as a hobby to pass the time slowly became a passion project. By the time I returned home from my deployment over 3/4 of the book was written and I knew had something I needed to finish!
