Milan Gupta The Mariner's Grandson started out as a challenge from my wife to write a short story. I had no idea where to start, so I created a middle-aged man facing a crossroads in his life. As a physician, I see this with my patients everyday. Once I had created the character Duncan Craig, the rest was easy.
Milan Gupta Once I've started, it's my characters that I find inspiring, and I look forward to developing them and their storylines. When I'm starting a new book however, it's mostly my wife who pushes me along!
Milan Gupta I'm putting the finishing touches on my second novel, These Scars Called Home. And trying to spread the word about The Mariner's Grandson!
Milan Gupta Sit down and start writing. If you're having trouble coming up with a story outline, don't worry. Just start writing and you'll eventually figure out what you want to say.
