I talk with friends and my critique partners and we walk through the issues I'm having. It usually makes the wheels begin to turn. I don't deal with that very much, I have to say. There's usually some little tidbit that comes and opens up new ideas. But I'm blessed with good friends, critique partners, and brainstorming folks. I couldn't do this without them. And I pray. That's always the first thing I do. Ask God for guidance and discernment.

I have several on my long, long TBR list. I don't think it will ever be empty. At least, I hope not. I love to read! I've just finished Pat Nichols' Willow Falls series. Great series, by the way. And I've recently read book two of Norma Gail Holtman's series featuring a lovely American woman and a man from the Scottish Highlands. Great books.

The best thing has been getting to meet the wonderful people who have come into my life during this journey. That includes teachers, mentors, and fellow conferees. Conferences are great places to meet people. I've even found some new cousins through this adventure. And lots and lots of new friends. That includes readers, people whom I've never met. Love that part. I hope to meet you all in person one day.

Like my first book, this one was taken from the pages of my family history. I've taken great poetic license with it as I did with Grave Consequences. It's quite fun to turn family stories into works of fiction.

Do not give up. Keep at it. Write every day. Attend conferences. Buy good, good writing books. Learn the craft. Hire the best editor you can find. Mostly, don't give up. It's never, ever too late. I'm living proof.
