J.W. Fowler I've always been fascinated with choices. The kind of choices we make as young adults that define the rest of our lives. After losing my dad to cancer, my best friend to heroine, and my second marriage to a long list of reasons, I had a lot to say about choices. That's where this story came from.
J.W. Fowler It's a myth. Doesn't exist.
J.W. Fowler It's way cheaper than therapy.
J.W. Fowler Write about what you're feeling. The story will come out of that. My greatest writing false-starts come out of trying to shove meaning into a story. Writing works best, for me at least, when the story takes a backseat to the writer's emotional expression.
J.W. Fowler My second novel currently lives on about 10 pages of steno pad. I turn 47 in a few months and the slow climb to 50 is so rich in content for me. The next story will be set in New Orleans and will feature an aging musician who finds new meaning in a life he thought was entering its final chapters.
J.W. Fowler I'm love people and the complexities of human relationships. I also get bored easily and have a great back porch. Combine all that and writing just happens.
