The fictional London as developed in the “Rivers of London” series by Ben Aaronovitch. I find the world he has created, with the rivers themselves as characters fascinating. How great would it be to have these characters in real life.

I find music helps me. I get inspirations from song lyrics and find they can provide the storyline I am looking for when I hit a hurdle.

I am currently working on the follow up to my novel “Through the Barricades” which develops some of the open storylines and focuses on the family relationships and conflicts raised by events in the first novel.

My debut novel is inspired by the courage of my childhood friend, who unfortunately passed away far too early. In wanting to create a world based on the social and cultural changes during 1980s Britain, my inspiration came from his courage in the face of adversity.
