My book THE BLUE HOUSE RAID, to be released by The Ardent Writer Press on October 1, evolved from my military experience along the Korean DMZ in the 1960s. I chose fiction (rather than memoir or auto-fiction) so I could get various perspectives, Korean both north and south, as well the American soldiers.

I've started a novel, working title BROTHERS-IN-LAW that was in the back of mind as a short story but deserves more. Thematically, it deals with the prospects and livelihoods of blue collar versus white collar workers.

For me, the best thing about writing fiction is stepping into a character's shoes and seeing the world from that perspective. There are pitfalls to attribution, but all in all I think it's emancipating.
