Cyrese Covelli "Pretty Knees" came from the question what would a child whom survived years of abuse at the hands of those closest to her do if she found them murdered. Would she rejoice? Would she feel guilt? Would she feel safe and if so, what does that say about her? Is she a survivor? Yes? Is a little piece of her now darker and monstrous yes. How does she carve out a new life for herself when she is so haunted by what happened to her? How does she face those that hurt her when they refuse to acknowledge what happened. How does she make them pay?
Cyrese Covelli My fear inspires me, my dreams, my worries, my memories, my dreams. So much of my psyche is poured into my stories that I have to take a breather sometimes to deal with the rawness of it all.

Cyrese Covelli The top three things:

1. (From Stephen King) "If you don't have the time to read, then you don't have the time, or skills, to write."

2. Stop editing yourself prematurely. You are screwing with your muse that way. Let the first chapter suck big-time and fix it later.

3. Write every day even if you feel you have nothing. Write why you have nothing, what you wish you could be writing and how you can open up that place inside you.
Cyrese Covelli Creating characters that become friends that develop traits and tendencies they didn't start out with. The whole process is organic and being in new places and seeing things through my characters' eyes is both exciting and terrifying for me.
Cyrese Covelli Writer's block doesn't exist. Lack of imagination does.
Cyrese Covelli Hi,
