Don't quit. Maybe shift to a different project. That's what I do when I get stuck on a particular painting. Get some momentum going, then return to the original piece. Sometimes it will finish itself.

I'm working on marketing the book. Then I'm going to work on painting some pictures and writing down ideas. I'm confident the next book will emerge from that process.

I think it was Woody Allen who said 95% of inspiration is showing up. That goes for me.

The idea started when I had painting students. I began writing a curriculum for beginning artists. Over time, it grew into a narrative, and A Coward's Guide to Oil Painting is the result, a hybrid of sorts.
