J.P. Chandler I don't get writer's block in the sense of not being able to write or not being able to come up with a story to work on. I do have trouble at times when something in a story is not working and can't figure out how to fix it. Often it is a matter of knowing some important element is missing. The key is usually breaking the scene down to its critical elements and then moving the pieces around to see how they work.

The reason I don't get writer's block is because I keep a file of ideas that is constantly growing. Anytime a new idea comes along, I write it down in the file, even if it's only a single sentence. If I ever find myself in need of something to write, I break out that file. I either build on the ideas listed or I pick an idea to turn into a full story.
J.P. Chandler I am working on the sequel to They Call Me Princess. I have the stories for the second and third book blocked out, just need to get it all on virtual paper.
J.P. Chandler I was trying to come up with a story for the Fallen World anthology From the Ashes, when I remembered seeing a map back in they 1980s of likely nuclear targets in the U.S. and probable fallout patterns. I remember that despite how saturated much of California would be, the north coast would be mostly left alone and relatively safe, including Crescent City, home of Pelican Bay. Once I had the location, the rest fell into place pretty quickly.
