Jim Santos For me, it is when I hear from a reader that what I have written has touched them, or made them think of something in a different way. It is an awesome feeling to know that sitting here at my computer, I am able to once and awhile reach out and affect another human being in some small way.
Jim Santos Write!

I have so many people tell me "I've always wanted to write" - but they never do. Try to sit down at least a few times a week and just write. It doesn't really matter what at first. Just get into the habit of getting your thoughts down in words. Journaling or a blog is a good way to get started.
Jim Santos There are three projects I currently have percolating in various stages. One is a sort of a tongue-in-cheek and hopefully humorous combination self-help/cookbook/conspiracy theory. The second is a "facts vs myths" about the expat life in general, and finally I have a science-fiction mystery I'm struggling with.
Jim Santos A few months after my first wife died after a long battle with cancer, I started a journal as a way to work through the grief and guilt as being the one left alive. Years later, still struggling with issues despite having a life that was in many ways much better and married to a wonderful woman, I started another journal when we decided to get in shape and hike the Inca Trail. I soon saw that the two were connected, and that I had to finally deal with Survivor's Guilt.
