Alison Joseph My most recent standalone, Dying to Know, is all about particle physics. I got the idea because I got a bit obsessed with the search for the Higgs Boson, and ended up talking to physicists. Then while I was writing it, they found the Higgs Boson, so I had to change all the physics in my novel. My most recent novella, Hidden Sins, features Agatha Christie as a (fictional) detective. So those ideas were all about what it was like to have survived the First World War and be well aware that another war was possible.
Alison Joseph I've gone back to Sister Agnes for a short story (for an anthology to be published at the end of this year). It's been fun seeing what she's been up to, and exploring her new concerns. I'm also working on a novel with my new detective, Malone, who has so far appeared in a short story, Samir's Lament.
Alison Joseph So far I've been amazingly lucky about this, in that the ideas are always there.
