Book 2 in the Da'Valia Trilogy. I've drafted the entire trilogy, now it's time to go back through and tighten the story up. Expect more adventure, romance, and a broader Da'Valia world!

Writer's block can be so painful if you don't have a way to deal with it. I've finally figured out that when it hits, I should write something completely different until I get unblocked. Sometimes, that means skipping ahead to a scene in the future and writing from there and then going back, or sometimes it means whatever I was stuck on in the first place wasn't meant to be and I cut it out.

I grew up reading Tamora Pierce, and her books made me fall in love with fantasy to begin with, so I would have to say Tortall. I'd love to see her magic system in real life, maybe learn to use a bow and arrow while I'm there, and see if King Jonathan is as cute as I always thought.

I can’t say exactly without giving away a huge spoiler, but I will say that I started with the end of the trilogy in mind. Then, I had to build my main character and I wanted her to be authentic. I put certain attributes, occupations, etc., into a hat, and then built her from those basic elements. Now I know her better than probably most real people in my life!
