Begin, write daily, write about what moves you. I wanted to write since I was a child. However, I took another career path during most of my life. Now I have committed myself to writing and it is my primary career. I wish I had done it earlier, but I don't look back. I go forward with confidence and happiness that I have arrived. My advice is to go forward with self determination and courage. You can do it.

I am working a a series of books about the adoption journey for my family. The next book, will be about the adoption of my daughter, Sedona Lican Wilson. Sedona was adopted from China at 14 months. Writing and recalling the emotions and activities is painful and joyous. I love the writing process.

Writing is good for the soul. When I sit down to write, I know that it will be a good day. Some days it comes easily, and other days it may be a struggle. As the sunsets and I am ready to quit, I feel accomplished when I have taken the time to write. The inspiration for my writing comes from my family. My stories or my blogs are about family, travel, and life situations so the subjects are everywhere.

My book, Luck Times Two, is about the adoption of my daughter, Sierra Fu Shuang Wilson from China at age 12. My family was formed through adoption and I wanted to document the journey we went through adopting an older child. Hopefully, the story will inspire others to adopt and will help other families maneuver the international adoption process.
