I am not certain inspiration is needed. I definitely have to motivate myself to write since writing is a very isolated and challenging activity. I am inspired, of course, by the potential for publication and compensation, along with positive feedback first from editors and later from readers.

Currently, I am working on a young adult novel where I use my background as a wrestler and a wrestling coach to create Alex Corrigan, a high school sophomore who finds himself thrust onto the varsity wrestling teaml. He has no experience and a lot of fear, but he feels this is his chance to stop being invisible at Amherst High School.
