Annie Mick I get a lot of my ideas from music. The last: "Tell Me Why, Jannie" was inspired by a song from Dennis De Young, "Desert Moon" about a chance meeting in a train station. The basis was there, the story is my own.
My first novel, "Run To Me" was inspired by the song with the same title by the Bee Gees; used a rescue song in a dire time of need.
Annie Mick Honestly? The voices in my head needed a release and books seemed to be the best place to give them a home.
Keep in mind, there is a difference between crazy and creative.
You're only crazy if you answer the voices in your head... :)
Annie Mick Working on two WIPs currently: the follow-up to "Tell Me Why, Jannie" in which Sebastian gets his own story with "The Fresh French Connection". The other is a story about a rock band reunion tour involving three military veterans titled "Old Farts and Pop Tarts".
Annie Mick Never give up on your dream.
Annie Mick Being able to write my own scenarios. Life gives us no opportunity to foresee the future. Not only can I predict it as I write, but I can change it anywhere along the way if I see fit. It's fun, much like a puzzle, and keeps my brain busy.
Annie Mick Generally, I take a day off or work on my other WIP. It's amazing how many answers come to me early in the morning or, unfortunately, in the middle of the night. Hence the reason I keep a notepad and pen on the nightstand. The trick is to never stress over it. Rome wasn't built in a day. The story will be ready when it's ready.
