Always keep learning. Attend workshops, and if you can afford them find the BEST mentors in each aspect of the craft of writing. Do not discount the pillars of the craft - Plot Development, Hooks, Point of View, Characters definition and internal and external goals, Dialogue development. All of it is important. Like any apprentice, you have to practice to get it right. The more you write the better your narrative becomes.

I was research my graduate thesis and the story developed from there, as a lot of the information I found, wasn't in the public domain.

Change the scenery. Head to the beach or the country. Sometimes I write by hand and then transcribe notes. Writing by hand forces you to think about every word you are about to put on the page, unlike using the laptop or desktop.
