Ubriel Bryne Hi, Pasuht. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
The book will release on January 7th, 2023, and will be listed everywhere at that time.
I got the notice of your Book Sirens review, and was happily encouraged by your words. Thank you so much.
I was interested by your reference to the lack of a specifically queer character. I would like to be able to have representative characters of the community, but I don't feel like I have a broad enough experience to offer a satisfactory telling. I am interested in learning more and if ever I feel confident to write that story, I hope you will read it. =)
Ubriel Bryne I would travel to Robert Jordan's world of The Wheel of Time and do everything. It's such an incredible world full of fantasy and adventure; and a little danger.
Failing that, I'd go to Surset from my first series and join the Andra Company in their travels.
Ubriel Bryne I write anyway. Generally, I don't get writer's block. When it has happened, it's been for a reason. I had a single case of writer's block for nearly 20 years, due to having children at home.
Usually though, it's a matter of not having the next scene or the trajectory thoroughly mapped out. It means I need to tap it all out on the screen, one big, messy word dump, and walk away. When I come back later, seeing what I produced and where it's lacking will bring it back into focus and help me find the right path forward.
If that doesn't work, I sketch or paint or otherwise give shape to what I think I should be writing. But I always start by writing anyway.
Ubriel Bryne The best thing about being a writer is being able to look back at what you've written and smile. It comes from nothing but whatever's inside of me, and it's pretty good. It's the best reflection.
Ubriel Bryne Write for you. If you aren't enthralled with what you are writing, your readers will be able to tell. If you can't wait to write the next chapter, don't! Don't hang the worth of your passion on your readers finding you. Just write and love it, study it and get better at it! When you're ready, you will be where the readers can find you.
Ubriel Bryne I'm working on the next book!
and the day job... always the day job. I love my job! I'm incredibly fortunate to work as an editor to pay the bills and fund my writing/publishing habit.
Ubriel Bryne I was born inspired to craft stories. The oldest of ten grandchildren in our matriarchy, I got into more trouble for scaring my cousins with my bedtime stories than any other naughty thing I ever did.
Ubriel Bryne Like most of my books, it all starts with a dream, or a nightmare, that won't let me go once I wake up. I end up writing it all down just to get it out of my head!
