Eyes squeezed tight and breath caged within his chest, the little boy silently prayed the cold specter wouldn't notice him as it passed through his room. When he heard the last footstep in the hallway outside, he squeaked out a whimper, only to be muffled by the pressure of a rotting hand.

I'd love to travel to my own fictional world of Hicares. It's an absolutely breathtaking country, with plenty of wonderful hiking opportunities. As far as a fictional book world by another author? I wish I could actually visit Diagon Alley and that it was a real place with real magic.

I'm working on a lot! I'm editing the second book in The Telverin Trilogy, which is coming out Spring 2021. I'm also participating in a Space Opera anthology with 24 other creatives who built the world and characters with me in a special RPG. Besides these two active projects, I'm outlining an urban fantasy series that will publish after all of The Telverin Trilogy is released.

Write whatever your heart desires and write whenever you possibly can. Don't think about it. Just write. You will not only improve but also figure out your voice. Experiment frequently. I enjoy daily prompt writing on Twitter. It's really good for testing out ideas and improving my techniques.

First, I stop writing. Then, I do something fun. Then, I meditate. I put on some peaceful music, light a scented candle, and ZONE OUT. This seems to unlock something in the back of my brain where my ideas are hiding. I stop meditating and just write everything down as it comes to me in a notebook.
