Mark E. McCann Greetings, James!

Thank you so much for checking out WORLD WAR 2.1, and especially for letting me know you enjoyed it. That makes the whole thing worthwhile. Incidentally, we are currently working on getting it turned into an audiobook... very exciting!

I am currently working on another novel, though this one is a little different from WW 2.1. It still has the historical-comparison aspect, but it isn't an "action" story. It's called CABIN 6, and is based on a short film I wrote years ago. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out on YouTube:

If any of your veteran family members are still with us, please give them a hearty handshake and a heartfelt "Thank you for your service" for me. WW 2.1 was dedicated to all those who have served.

As far as where ideas come from, I've always said they are like rocks on the ground: they are everywhere... but it's up to the author to figure out which ones will shine up into gems. WW 2.1 came about years ago when I was playing some online First-Person-Shooter, and was getting my tail handed to me. I thought to myself that all these smug players wouldn't be so cocky if they had to experience it for real. That's when the lightbulb went off. I wrote it as a screenplay (it never got produced--too expensive), then later as a novel. I began as a screenwriter before turning to novels.

Cursing in a story is often necessary, because we as human beings are such fallible creatures... but it doesn't mean I have to bombard the reader with expletives. I usually just write something like, "John cursed loudly, using words that made Bobby blush." It still gets the point across, without having to hit the reader over the head. Thank you for noticing!

Again, thank you for reaching out. I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
