Kaci Lane Hi Scott,

It's more of a companion to the series. I am actually working on a follow-up to Christmas in Dixie now. It will release during the holiday season, and Christmas in Dixie with the new book will become its own holiday series.

As for audiobooks, I hope to release more in the future. Those are very costly to make, so Christmas in Dixie was my "test" book to see how they do.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Kaci :)
Kaci Lane I'm pretty much an open book with not much mystery. But I come from a small town with lots of rumors about things of the past, so I'm sure one of those might work.
Kaci Lane I have a freelance business and two little kids, so for me it's more time block. I usually have more ideas than time!

But, seriously, taking time to plot my stories helps a ton. That way, if I have to take a longer break than I want from writing, it's easy to pick up where I left off.
Kaci Lane I'm a professional squirrel chaser by nature. I see or hear something and think "that would make a great story/movie." Then my brain starts rolling out scenarios and "what ifs" play across my mind like a movie scene. As a writer, I get to make that come to life, and hopefully others will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Kaci Lane Keep with it!

I've written all my life and worked in publishing before becoming an author. Even after writing many articles and editing books for others, I still had to fine-tune my novelist skills. But it's well worth the hard work if you love writing, no matter what type of writing you want to do.
Kaci Lane If you read my book "Side Hustle" in "The Funny Thing about Love" anthology, then you've read the first book in my clean rom-com series that focuses on women working in education. I'm plotting a shorter lead-up story to introduce all the characters in that series. "Side Hustle" will soon publish as a single title as well and come out in paperback.
Kaci Lane I look for story ideas in everyday life, whether from my life or others. An idea can come from anywhere, then I develop it and have fun making up interesting characters to play it out.
Kaci Lane Like Brittany, I started out as an editor but always wanted to write my own stories. Greg is based on my husband who is a land surveyor. Grandpa Barnes is inspired by my own late grandpa, "Papa Clark," who was my best friend.
