Shirley Harris-Slaughter My work schedule is quite erratic. I write in spurts. There is no order to it at all. Sometimes I'll have an inspiration in a dream. Then I get up to get on my computer to write it down so I don't forget. Its crazy. My second book "Crazy, Hot, and Living On the Edge, has been a work in progress. I couldn't gather all my thoughts in a way that would make for an orderly, easy read so had to hire some one to help me bring it all together. She is a friend and former journalist. Sharon I don't know if this answers your question but it will give you some idea of me and how I work.

Shirley Harris-Slaughter My next book is about overcoming a medical crisis in my life and sharing what I learned with women who may need the information. I'm in the editing stages right now.
Shirley Harris-Slaughter I wasn't inspired initially. There was just a nagging in my head to get it done. I kept fighting it until I finally sucumbed. Then I tackled it with a sense of urgency which was warranted since they tore down the school in 2008. More history just wiped out.
Shirley Harris-Slaughter I watched as my Catholic community started to lose its identity with mergers and closings. I felt that someone needed to tell the story. I just didn't know at the time that it would be me.
