Connie Biddle Morrison I'm sorry to say that I have only one book published, a children's book, The Dragonfly and the Ladybug, but I'm very proud of it and think it is a grand story for all children to read. It's about friendship between two very different, whoops, I almost said people, bugs. The idea came to me a long time ago so I have forgotten the particulars. I'm sad that it took me so long to put it down on paper.
Connie Biddle Morrison I have a Kindle Vella story going (episodic) and am having more fun writing than I ever did before! Anna's Journey by me.
Connie Biddle Morrison The absolutely best thing about being a writer (at least a fiction writer) is control...control of the plots, control of the characters, control of the setting, complete control.
Connie Biddle Morrison I find writer's block to be all in my head. When I decide to write and purposely sit down to do it, I write.
Connie Biddle Morrison I crawled out of bed and made my way to the kitchen. The coffee canister was empty.
Connie Biddle Morrison It's not that I'm interested in one particular world, but I am drawn to the books where the person goes through something....Alice through the looking glass, the Narnia kids through the closet, Claire and Jamie through time. Maybe I've been reincarnated?
Connie Biddle Morrison I find I am most inspired to write when sitting on my back porch. I'm not really looking at anything or listening to anything but the calm infuses my body and mind somehow, and the words almost write themselves.
Connie Biddle Morrison Hi Ted,
Wow, that is a lot of poetry, and I hope you do pursue publishing a book. I've only done the one childrens' book, but I will be happy to share my process.
Like you, I had written my story several years ago and never done anything else with it. Then, during this isolation, I got the publishing bug and began some research into how. I watched several YouTube videos and from one of them discovered Canva. I played around on the site, getting familiar with it, and finally just went with it, always using the free version. It's pretty easy and self-explanatory.
After I had my book like I wanted it (less the cover), I went to KDP's publishing site (where I already had set up an account) and followed the directions. The entire process did not take long and cost me nothing.
I hope this info helps some. Best of luck to you and do let me know when you are published.
Connie
