Pam Ostrowski "It's Not That Simple: Helping families navigate the Alzheimer's Journey" is based on my 14-year journey with my mom as she went from the first signs of Alzheimer's to passing. Rather than just writing my story, I included helpful tips, conversation starters, and guidance on how we made our decisions so that others could benefit.
Pam Ostrowski I just self-published "It's Not That Simple: Helping families navigate the Alzheimer's Journey." I'm thinking of writing a help guide for caregivers who work in care communities to help them understand the disease better so they can provide the best care possible.

I'm also thinking of writing a book about grief and the identity journey when you're the primary caregiver and your "main" role goes away at the passing of your loved one.

Does anyone have a preference on which one I should start first?
Pam Ostrowski When first starting out, focus on your observations about a topic. It's easier to write when the topic is something you've experienced or can relate well to. Write down your thoughts about anything and see where it goes. Use your authentic voice. There is no right or wrong. It's YOUR book!
Pam Ostrowski Great question! I start typing. :) For me, writing It's Not That Simple, I relied on my story, one I was passionate about sharing. I've found that just starting to explain a topic or relay the story got my creative juices flowing. I hope this works for you, too!
