If you have ever been in love, you must be knowing how you find time for your loved one even from the busiest of schedule. When you are away from them, they remain in your thoughts. During harsh times their loving memories keep you going. Similarly, if you can fall in love with what you write, you will overcome all hurdles. But after completing your piece of work, you must detach yourself from it, so that you may view it objectively and make necessary changes (even if these changes are drastic).

While writing you learn a lot more about yourself and your surroundings/phenomenon through research (even for writing a good fiction you need to research), your observation of things/people along with your imagination increases.

During the writer's block, I encounter ideas that I find hard to write about. It could be due to confusion, lack of clarity, cacophony of thoughts and/or emotions, etc. I accept this state because it provides me with the opportunity to shed my previous approach towards writing and choose a different approach. This period could be used for experimenting with your existing writing skills to develop something entirely new.
